NORMAN LANDSBERG (August 20, 1949 – October 28, 2023)
Pianist and composer Norman Landsberg had a colorful career in music before joining the Piedmont Piano Company staff in 1998. He was a founding member of the rock group Mountain, musical director for the Pointer Sisters, and half of the piano duo Landsberg & Yount, among other musical pursuits. In later years, he realized a long term dream when he assumed the persona of bandleader Manny Moka, arranging and recording two albums with the Band on Fire, his Latin Funk Jazz Big Band that also performed at various jazz venues and festivals.
Norman was a devoted and loyal member of our PPC family. He deeply loved the piano store and its employees. For over twenty years, he provided trusted advice to customers and attended and managed virtually every one of our in-store concerts, numbering over a thousand in total. When the pandemic shut our doors in early 2020 Norman decided it was time to retire. He spent much of his time at his home in San Francisco, making music. After battling brain cancer for a year, we lost this remarkable talent, friend, and colleague in 2023.

Stephanie Trick & Paolo Alderighi
The musical theater of Broadway has historically been one of the important birthplaces of popular songs in America, and by the late 1920s, American songwriters started working in Hollywood as well. The piano duo of Stephanie Trick and Paolo Alderighi will take a journey through half a century of classic musicals, which have always had a close relationship to jazz. They present their inventive arrangements on two pianos, which combine the lively syncopated and swinging rhythms of early jazz piano styles with more modern musical approaches.
