Swedish musical sensation Gunhild Carling is an internationally acclaimed superstar. Whether she's singing favorite jazz standards, or playing one of many instruments, Gunhild's sublime showmanship shines through. She combines extraordinary skills on trumpet and trombone with vaudeville stunts, like playing three trumpets at once. She’ll be joined by Idun Carling (vocals, trombone), Jason Bellenkes (sax), Rebecca Roudman (cello), Benito Cortez (violin), Neil Fontano (piano), Adam Kubota (bass), and Pete Devine (drums).

Whether she’s singing favorite swinging jazz standards, playing one of many instruments (trumpet, trombone, harmonica, oboe, harp, flute, recorder, or jazz bagpipe!) or juggling and tap dancing, Gunhild’s sublime showmanship shines. And just wait for the finale – spoiler alert – she plays three trumpets at once!
Carling competed as a celebrity dancer in Let’s Dance 2014 on TV4 placing third. Was also on Sweden’s Dancing with The Stars. Gunhild performed for Sweden’s Got Talent in 2017 and this year she is currently on America’s Got Talent season 2019.
She recently performed with her 'Carling Big Band' at the Royal Palace in Stockholm in the celebration for King Carl XVI Gustaf's Ruby Jubilee. Performing such great memorable vintage songs such as "Minnie the Moocher," "Sweet Georgia Brown," "All of Me," "It Had to Be You," and an endless repertoire of songs, Gunhild masterfully takes you back to another era like a time machine.
Between Touring with her own band, she performs in several configurations from solo to orchestra to symphony and as a featured singer and multi-instrumentalist in several of Postmodern Jukebox's songs, including a 1920s jazz swing version of "Material Girl", and a 1920s hot jazz cover of ABBA's "Dancing Queen”. Jason Bellenkes (saxophone) has been playing reed instruments since the age of nine. While growing up in Los Gatos, California, his uncle introduced him to jazz and blues, helping Jason to begin his professional jazz career at age 15. Bellenkes later earned his music performance degree, both his Bachelors and Masters, from California State University, East Bay, and studied under saxophone instructor Dan Zinn. His Bachelors was in saxophone performance, and his Masters in Jazz studies. He has also studied saxophone with Bob Shepard, Brad Leali, and Victor Morosco.
Neil Fontano (piano): grew up in the North Bay's Sonoma County. He started playing professionally at 14 and has since worked with various groups and artists including R&B songstress Atarah Green; vocalist, actor and producer Trevor Hoffmann; vocalists Susan McIntosh, Amba Miss Henry; jazz bandleaders Nick Rossi, Clint Baker, Johnny Bones and The Palace of Jazz, and among numerous others, Stella Heath in Stella & The Starlights and The Billie Holiday Project. Currently he serves as the assistant music director at his former high school.
Adam Kubota hails from the San Francisco Bay Area and studied at Connecticut’s Hartt School of Music. He is the regular bass player for Postmodern Jukebox. The ensemble features many of the performers who appear on Postmodern Jukebox’s YouTube and in their live shows. A versatile bassist, he has been fortunate to perform and record with a diverse selection of great artists including: Anthony Braxton, Dave Koz, Puddles the Clown, Wayne Brady, Haley Reinhart, Blake Lewis, Melinda Doolittle, Shoshana Bean, Gunhild Carling, Aubrey Logan and many more.
He has toured all over the world including North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa, hitting such stages as the Kennedy Center, Radio City Music Hall, the Sydney Opera House, London’s Roundhouse, l’Olympia in Paris, the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, and the Ryman Theater in Nashville.
Adam owns the company Redux Booking, which has booked bands for Chef Geoffrey Zakarian’s restaurant near Times Square and for Demetria Lucas’ wedding, which aired on Bravo’s Blood Sweat & Heels. adamkubota.com
