Dr. Lee Steward's background includes over 30 years of experience in the arts as a professional singer, teacher & coach, and conductor. Originally from Lynchburg, Virginia, he has performed on the greatest stages of the world, with companies such as the San Francisco Opera, Opera San José, and Opera Theatre of St. Louis as well as on A&E Television with Stephen Sondheim and Bernadette Peters and charity events with Gregory Hynes. Having a deep passion for choral music education, he is the only person to have conducted the renowned Boys Choir of Harlem and San Francisco Girls Chorus.

In the SF Bay Area for thirteen years, he has held the Chair of the Performing Arts role at the Bentley School, where he oversaw department recruitment, marketing, and operations. Also, he launched two Bay Area performing arts series programs that provided performance outlets for world-class performers, benefiting both artists and regional charities. He continues an active musical career, singing with the Oakland Symphony Chorus, San Francisco Choral Society, Masterworks Chorale as well as several regional concert performances.
