Allan Harris
Swingin' Love Songs

Swingin' Love Songs features the timeless artistry of jazz vocalist Allan Harris and his swinging trio performing a collection of newly discovered songs by Ike Joseph, an original Brill Building songwriter whose compositions were never released. Filled with romance, wit, and irresistible swing, these swinging love songs capture the spirit of the Great American Songbook in the tradition of Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, and Johnny Hartman. Harris brings warmth, sophistication, and soulful storytelling to these hidden gems, giving them the spotlight they deserve.

ALLAN HARRIS
Praised by The New York Times for his “formidable baritone and hushed intensity,” Allan Harris is one of the most captivating voices in contemporary jazz and soul today. With a career spanning over four decades, Harris has released 14 acclaimed recordings, earning his place among the great interpreters of the American Songbook—while also staking bold new ground as a composer, storyteller, and cultural voice.

Brooklyn-born and Harlem-based, Harris was raised on the sounds of Nat King Cole, Eddie Jefferson, and Al Jarreau, but his music pulses with a modern heartbeat. He’s penned genre-defying works like Cross That River, a musical reimagining of the Black West, and Kate’s Soulfood, a soul-drenched tribute to his family’s legendary Harlem restaurant. His songs honor history, uplift identity, and move the soul.

From his first recordings in the '90s to his recent project The Poetry of Jazz, where he sets the words of Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, and Shakespeare to swinging grooves, Harris continues to evolve and inspire. Whether backed by a hard-swinging jazz trio or a full orchestra, he commands the stage with warmth, sophistication, and undeniable truth. allanharris.com
