Tia Carroll - Band Leader /Vocalist

Award winning California native Tia Carroll has quietly accumulated one of the most impressive entertainment resumes in the Bay Area and has become one of the most sought-after female singers on the West Coast.    Tia has headlined venues and festivals all over the world with her band as well as some very well-established host bands. She has shared stages with legends Ray Charles, Jimmy McCracklin, Syl Johnson, Sugar Pie DeSanto and B.B King, Tommy Castro, Elvin Bishop, Igor Prado and Eric Gales.

David Sobel -  Keyboard/Piano

Known for his expressive and passionate playing, soulful grooves and melodic improvisation, David has been a band member for many great artists, including Tia Carroll, the late Kathi McDonald (back-up vocalist on over 100 gold records, including for Joe Cocker, Ike and Tina Turner, Leon Russell), Freddie Hughes, Catfish Hodge (the Bluesbusters, with Paul Barrere, T Lavitz and Freebo), and Archie Lee Hooker.  He has performed at dozens of venues and festivals around the country, with highlights that include the Kennedy Center, the National Capital BBQ Festival, and Blues Alley in Washington, DC; the Baltimore Blues Festival; the Red River Revel in Shreveport, Louisiana; the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA; the Lonestar Roadhouse, the Bitter End, and the Elbow Room in NYC; Biscuits and Blues, the Chapel, and the Polk Street Festival in San Francisco.  He has played in bands directly opening for Derek Trucks, Shemekia Copeland, Big Bill Morganfield, Kenny Wayne Shephard, Tommy Castro, and Elvin Bishop.  Originally trained as a classical and jazz trombonist, David won All-County and All-State honors in both idioms as a high school student in New York.  He is primarily self-taught on the piano and keyboards.

Jeffrey James - Guitar

Jeffrey James Horan is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Jeffrey was born in the SF Bay Area in 1986. Jeffrey has been playing guitar for 28 years, professionally for 19. He first started playing gospel music in church as a child, and later in his teens started playing traditional blues and rock music with local musicians. It was at this time that he began to advance to a level that was to be desired and started a professional career at the age of 16. He soon joined forces with the son of blues legend John Lee Hooker. As guitarist for The John Lee Hooker, Jr. Band he has been featured on two Grammy nominated albums, in 2004 and 2009. Jeffrey performs nationally and internationally with John Lee and has shared the bill and stage with the likes of B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Santana, Lenny Kravitz, and The Rolling Stones in 2017. You can also see Jeffrey James Horan when he is home in the Bay Area playing with his own band. Jeffrey writes, sings and performs his own original music in Bay Area venues with a power trio or solo acoustic. Some of Jeffrey’s musical influences are BB King, Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, The Vaughan Brothers, Santana, Eric Clapton and Prince to name a few.

 

Michael Rogers - Bass

Bassist Michael Rogers, either on Electric or Acoustic/ Upright Basses has been playing and entertaining people these last 30 years. Michael been in high demand ever since his move to San Francisco, CA

He can be found consistently in the Bay Area "Art/Music" scene, either backing up the Bay Area's most prominent local Blues Artists such as Tia Carroll, Bobby Webb, Filmore Slim, Finis Tasby, Lucky Peterson, Jimmy McCrackin. Or, sharing the stage with one of the top Show bands in Northern California - The Cheeseballs.

Michael has earned international acclaim over the years backing international acts such as Rap Artist Tone Loc, Rock hall of famers - Paul Revere and the Raiders, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray and plenty more. Michael can also be found on a long list of recordings.

Originally hailing from NYC, Michael was hired by the award-winning swing band Lee Press-on and the nails for a tour which ended in Sf. He found it "The place to be" and set up shop there.

Currently, Michael is filling his calendar and ready to get back into the game (post covid)
