Flutist, Singer and Composer Rebecca Kleinmann’s musical life is, in a word, diverse. She is a graduate of the acclaimed Indiana University School of Music, in both Classical and Jazz with a background ranging from Gospel to Flamenco, Irish, Tango and Brazilian music. Originally from North Carolina, Rebecca lived in Southern California for ten years teaching private and group classes, touring world-wide and leading several ensembles including her own Jazz Quintet and Elameno Quintet, featuring world-music original compositions for acoustic instruments. She released her first CD “Raio de Sol” in 2005 accompanied by Grammy Awarded and Nominated musicians including Airto Moreira, Lionel Loueke, and Jovino Santos Neto.

Within less than a year of living in the Bay Area, Rebecca has performed at some of the area’s top venues including the Oakland Paramount, Yoshi’s, the Berkeley Jazz School, the Freight and Salvage, and the San Jose Jazz Festival. Her current projects include Kata-Vento with composer/guitarist Carlos Oliveira, La Dee Da with singer/songwriter Rosie Steffy, Flamenco with Melissa Cruz, and Aerialist Rose Nisker, guest performances with the Fishtank Ensemble, Dan Cantrell and Kugelplex, Grupo Falso Baiano and more. She was recently featured at the San Francisco Flute Festival and the National Flute Association convention. Rebecca is now recording a new album.

Rebecca welcomes advanced flute students, beginning flute students, and beginning vocalists. She teaches elementary school students for Music for Minors in San Carlos, the Community Music Center in SF, and the Escuela Bilingue Internacional, and leads the Brazilian Choro Ensemble at Zambaleta. Rebecca provides a fun, challenging lessons for her students, catering to each student's specific goals.
