This involves a certain amount of risk taking as well as an interactive approach that allows them to inspire one another as well as the listening audience.

Grammy-nominated Art Lande is an internationally known pianist, composer, improviser, drummer and educator who has performed with a long list of the Who's Who in jazz, including Joe Henderson, Woody Shaw, Bobby Hutcherson, Steve Swallow, Charlie Haden, Kenny Wheeler, Sheila Jordan, Mark Isham, Paul McCandless, Jan Garbarek and many others. He formed Rubisa Patrol in the mid 70's and recorded albums for ECM records, traveled, lived and taught in Europe before moving to Boulder, Colorado, where he played a weekly performance for 15 years. During a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Paul McCandless brings a soaring lyricism to his playing of the oboe, English horn, bass clarinet, soprano and sopranino saxophones and a collection of folk flutes. As a collaborator and solo artist he is credited with more than 200 albums and performances with such musicians as Jaco Pastorius, Carla Bley, Wynton Marsalis, Lyle Mays, Pat Metheny, Mark Isham, Steve Reich, Art Lande, Tony Furtado and the String Cheese Incident.He won a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental as a guest artist with Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, and his composition Round Robin on the album Oregon in Moscow, later received Grammy nominations for Best Instrumental Composition and Best Instrumental Arrangement. As an orchestral soloist, he has performed with the Camerata chamber orchestra of Mexico City, St Paul chamber orchestra, and the Philadelphia, Buffalo, Los Angeles and Stuttgart symphony orchestras, and continues as an integral member of two seminal world music bands, the original Paul Winter Consort and the relentlessly innovative quartet, OREGON. paulmccandless.com

Peter Barshay is a veteran jazz bassist that has recorded, performed, and toured with an impressive range of musicians during his extensive career. His musical essence was shaped by 15 years spent in the New York City jazz and latin scenes starting in the late seventies with Milt Jackson, Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, Joe Henderson and Joe Lovano. From salsa and straight ahead to funk, fusion, and avant garde, Peter has absorbed a lot of music on both coasts and continues to play, teach and compose. A former Berklee College of Music faculty member, Alan Hall, is an associate professor at the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley and lecturer at Cal State East Bay as well as UC Berkeley. He's been teaching for over 35 years and his performing career includes stints with Eddie Harris, Paul McCandless, Billy Childs, Kenny Werner, Triceratops, Lee Konitz, Rebecca Parris and Cirque de Soleil.
