teachers who teach one-on-one private lessons are private contractors.
We refer students to them. In Ingrid's case, she teaches in another
location, not at our school.

Alex Vittum
Alex Vittum is a percussionist, composer
and teacher based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He combines the
disciplines of percussion, instrument building and electronic music.
He is a member of the acoustic trio Powerdove and percussion duo
Tide Tables. Alex performs and records with a diverse group of musicians
and artists including, Kitty Brazleton, Daniel Carter, Gina Gibney
Dance and Loop 2.4.3. He holds a BA from Bennington College and
an MFA from Mills College and has studied percussion with Milford
Graves and William Winant. He is an accomplished recording engineer/producer,
dance accompanist and teacher. Alex is an associate instrument builder
and designer with the Paul Dresher Ensemble and a technician for
synthesizer pioneer Don Buchla.
Jim Kassis
Jim Kassis moved to San Jose in 1985
to study music at San Jose State University. After recieving his
degree in percussion performance,Jim began teaching and performing
thoughout the bay area. Groups he has performed with include the
Oakland Symphony, Opera San Jose, San Jose Symphony and the Cabrillo
Festival Orchestra in Santa Cruz. He has played drumset with Charlie
Hunter, Beth Custer,Will Bernard,Adam Levy and blues pianist Gene
Harris.Jim has taught drums at the Community School of Music and
Arts in Mountain View, the National Guitar Workshop and Santa Clara
University.
