1959 Steinway M Mid Century Centennial

This rare Steinway is one of a limited number of "contemporary" models built in the 1950s and 60s. It was designed in 1953 by Walted Dorwin Teague, who also designed some beautiful art deco cases for Steinway in the 1930s. The creation of this modern design was to honor the 100th anniversary of the founding of Steinway & Sons, and it is sometimes called the Centennial model. This particular instrument was purchased new in New York and came to us from its original family. It has never been restored and is in good playing condition, and it would be well worth the investment to have it restored to new condition. It is still paired with its original (and hard-to-find) matching bench. Size 5ft. 7in. Serial number 364639.
