Songs & Stories:
Amy Fogerson

Vocalist and poet Amy Fogerson sings songs that represent the different hats she has worn as a singer: student, chorister, soloist, teacher, lyricist. There will be music by Alan Chapman, Reena Esmail, and Dante de Silva, as well as songs composed by 5th graders and women experiencing houselessness in Los Angeles. She’ll share stories about making a living as a non-famous singer, her work with LA-based nonprofit organization Street Symphony, and collaborating with composers as a poet. Followed by audience Q & A. Hosted by vocalist Sharmila G. Lash.

$25 General Admission

We are offering a limited number of tickets to attend this performance in person. Advance purchase is recommended.

She has worked with the non-profit organization Street Symphony since 2014, and has facilitated collaborative music-making events in Skid Row, LA County jails, and CA state prisons. She is the founding Director of the Street Symphony Chamber Singers. Amy is also a poet whose texts have been set by composers Reena Esmail, Zanaida Robles, and Kent Carlson.
